About Me
I know this is long, but you're here to get to know me more, right?
Born and raised in Indiana, I’ve always been driven by a desire to understand how things work—and how to make them better. From an early age, that curiosity took shape through hands-on tinkering: modifying cars and motorcycles, taking things apart, rebuilding them, and learning through trial, error, and persistence. That mindset still defines how I work today.

I began my academic path at Purdue University studying engineering, but quickly realized that Industrial Design was where my technical curiosity and creative instincts truly intersected. After making the switch, I thrived—graduating in the top 5% of my Industrial Design class. Industrial Design gave me a framework for problem-solving, but my real strength has always been execution: turning ideas into real, functional, buildable products.

Since graduating in 2015, I’ve worked at XKGLOW, where I’ve been a fully remote team member since August 2016—long before remote work became the norm. Over the course of my tenure, I’ve played a key role in end-to-end product development, from early concept and visual design through prototyping, validation, and production support. Internally, I’m often regarded as the “engineer” on the design team—not by title, but by function—because of my ability to diagnose problems, understand electronics at a systems level, and engineer practical solutions that perform reliably in real-world automotive environments.

In addition to design and development, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to dozens of automotive and powersports trade shows representing the brand firsthand. In these settings, I’ve led product training sessions for sales representatives, worked directly with dealers and distributors, and engaged face-to-face with customers to demonstrate products, explain technical features, and gather real-world feedback. This experience has given me a valuable perspective beyond the design studio—connecting product decisions directly to customer expectations, sales effectiveness, and brand perception.

I am highly hands-on and largely self-taught outside of formal design education. I routinely teach myself new disciplines as needed—ranging from circuit board design and electrical engineering to mechanical problem-solving and fabrication. Whether it’s developing LED lighting systems, prototyping enclosures, or rebuilding motors on my kids’ dirt bikes, I’m most effective when I can design and build in parallel. That builder’s mindset allows me to move quickly, iterate intelligently, and design with manufacturability, durability, and serviceability in mind.

Alongside product development, I bring a deep background in graphic design and visual storytelling. My work has included extensive responsibility for catalogs, packaging systems, social media content, Kickstarter campaigns, and brand assets. I understand how design choices influence not just aesthetics, but clarity, trust, and conversion. That same skill set extends into my personal life—particularly through my son’s motocross racing—where I design everything from apparel and bike graphics to banners and promotional visuals, treating each effort with the same level of professionalism as a commercial brand.

My experience includes collaboration with major OEM and aftermarket partners across the automotive and powersports industries, including Honda, RealTruck, Polaris, and Rockford Fosgate. Working at this level has sharpened my understanding of production constraints, cross-functional collaboration, and the expectations that come with designing products intended for scale and long-term market support.

Outside of work, I’m a husband and a father of two—with another child on the way—and family is central to everything I do. That sense of responsibility shapes how I approach my career: I value ownership, long-term thinking, and building things that last. I’m motivated by meaningful problems, not just interesting ones, and I bring the same care and intentionality to my work that I bring to my family life.

At my core, I am a creator, inventor, and builder—someone who thrives at the intersection of design, engineering, and execution. I don’t just design how things should look; I focus on how they function, how they’re built, and how they succeed in the real world.
